A conversation is not a credit application.

The public Fleet Funding Check inquiry starts a conversation, not a credit pull. Do not send an SSN, date of birth, bank statements or tax returns here. Any later application or credit review belongs in the appropriate authorized process.

Soft and hard are different

A soft inquiry does not affect credit scores. A hard inquiry can affect a score. Neither an EFA nor a loan or lease label tells you which inquiry a provider uses. Ask who will check business or personal credit, what authorization is required, whether another provider will review it, and at what stage a hard inquiry could occur. Do not assume a universal approval-before-hard-pull sequence.

Reporting is a separate question

An inquiry checks a file; account reporting adds payment or account information. Ask which business or consumer bureaus receive routine payments, late payments or defaults, and how any personal guarantee is treated. Practices vary by provider and program, not just product name. No unchanged credit score or reporting outcome is promised.
